Spring is in the Air at Cobb’s Hill Estate
Leaves are poking their heads out of our century old oak trees and we see early petals unfolding in the flower beds. It’s uplifting. Wordsworth puts it best:
” I wondered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd.
A host, of golden daffodils:
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. ”
Our pruning team are also dancing having finished pruning our forty acres of established vineyards and just in time as the longer and warmer days start to stir the sap in the vines. Thanks to Jed, Rick and Lisa in particular for making our first in house pruning season a success. No rest for the wicked though, as our new 12 acres of Shiraz and Riesling vineyards (28,000 vines) need training to set them up for future harvests.
We have a number of events coming up in Spring.
